Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has finally broken his silence on the uncertainty shrouding Hera Pheri 3, following the shocking departure of veteran actor Paresh Rawal from the beloved comedy franchise. The move has left fans and the film`s future in a state of flux.
In a recent interview while promoting an upcoming project, Kumar addressed the swirling speculation with a hopeful outlook. When questioned about the ongoing controversy, he chose to remain positive about the film`s prospects.
These remarks are Kumar’s first public comments since Rawal’s decision to exit the film, a development that reportedly stunned him and co-star Suniel Shetty. Fans have been vocal on social media, pleading with Rawal to reprise his iconic role as the eccentric landlord, Baburao Ganpatrao Apte.
Following his exit, reports emerged that Akshay Kumar’s production house had issued a legal notice to Rawal, seeking ₹25 crore in damages for breach of contract. In response, Rawal provided an update on May 25, stating, “My lawyer, Ameet Naik, has sent an appropriate response regarding my rightful termination and exit. Once they read my response, all issues will be laid to rest.”
The Hera Pheri franchise, which began in 2000, revolves around the hilarious misadventures of two tenants, Raju (Akshay Kumar) and Shyam (Suniel Shetty), and their landlord Baburao (Paresh Rawal).
