Aneet Padda signs her next film, to star in a courtroom drama
Aneet Padda became an overnight sensation after her successful stint in Saiyaara. The romantic drama, which also marked Ahaan Panday`s debut, became one of the highest-grossing films of 2025. Now, the actress has signed her next big project.
After Mohit Suri`s romantic drama, the 22-year-old will be seen playing a victim in the courtroom drama titled Nyaya. She will play the role of a young survivor fighting for justice.
The film, which also stars Fatima Sana Shaikh and Arjun Mathur, is set against the backdrop of legal battles and courtroom drama and tackles the themes of courage and truth.
A source close to the development revealed, “Aneet Padda will be seen playing a victim who takes a brave stand against a powerful (godman) spiritual leader who has misbehaved with her. The story follows an intense courtroom drama that will fight against injustice for women."

"Her character is central to the story and brings emotional depth to the narrative. It aims to highlight themes of justice, power imbalance, and courage,” the source further added.
Nyaya will be helmed by Nitya Mehra, a renowned filmmaker known for films like Baar Baar Dekho and Made in Heaven. Her husband, Karan Kapadia, will also be directing the film. Nyaya`s cast also comes with a strong ensemble of Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Raghuveer Yadav, and Rajesh Sharma, who promise to add extra weight to the narrative.
This marks Nitya and Aneet Padda`s second collaboration after Big Girls Don`t Cry, an Amazon Prime Video drama series, which marked the latter`s debut.
For Aneet, this marks a significant transition from her big-screen debut in Saiyaara, where she played an aspiring songwriter battling with Alzheimer`s.
While Suri`s romantic drama highlighted her young, light-hearted phase, Nitya promises to bring out a more mature and hard-hitting role layered with emotions and social realities.
Saiyaara was released in July this year and went on to see a massive commercial success at the box office. The Aneet-Ahaan starrer also became an OTT favourite after it was released on Netflix on September 12.
Fans are eager to see what Aneet Padda brings to the table and the kind of stories she chooses to be a part of.
