Aamir Khan`s Son Junaid Khan To Make His Bollywood Debut With YRF-Netflix Collab Maharaj

Aamir Khan`s elder son, Junaid Khan, is all set to make his big Bollywood debut. This comes after Netflix India announced a collaboration with Yash Raj Films on Friday. The film will be based on the David vs. Goliath story set in the 1800s. It is titled Maharaj and will be released on Netflix.
Maharaj also stars Jaideep Ahlawat, Sharwari Wagh, and Shalini Pandey in prominent roles. The film will be directed by Hichki`s famed director, Siddharth P. Malhotra. A source close to the development revealed some interesting details about Junaid Khan`s debut movie.

“Maharaj marks the beginning of a deep collaboration between YRF and Netflix. The two companies previously worked together on `The Romantics,` a widely acclaimed docu-series delving into the history of Hindi cinema in India through the lens of Yash Raj Films. With Maharaj, they are cementing their partnership for a long-term association,” the source said to Pinkvilla.
Based on true events, Maharaj is based on the David vs. Goliath story. It revolves around an ordinary man`s life who is a journalist by profession. It gets interesting when the same man takes on a powerful role in society and becomes a messiah to many. `The fearless reporter uncovers a series of incidents that shake the very foundation of society," read the Netflix presser.
On Friday morning, Netflix took to its social media and teased fans by sharing news of a collaboration between the OTT giant and Yash Raj Films. The two platforms had previously worked together on The Romantics, a docu-series that delved deep into the life of iconic filmmaker Yash Chopra. It was a way to pay tribute to his contribution to Indian cinema.
With Maharaj, both Netflix and YRF are looking to cement a long-term association. Taking it to Twitter, the OTT giant announced the collaboration and wrote, “Netflix and Yash Raj Films join forces to bring a new era of blockbusters! Coming soon.”
The Laal Singh Chaddha actor then went on to marry Kiran Rao in 2005. They share a son named Azad Rao Khan. Aamir and Kiran are divorced as well.

Who is Junaid Khan?
For the uninitiated, Junaid Khan is Aamir Khan`s elder son with his first wife, Reena Dutta. The two got married in 1989 and had another daughter named Ira Khan.
