Aamir Khan Shares Filming Updates of His Next Movie With Lokesh Kanagaraj

Aamir Khan, known for his meticulous approach to filmmaking, is creating a buzz not just for his upcoming release, `Sitaare Zameen Par`, but also for a massive collaboration that has fans eagerly waiting. The actor, who usually keeps his future projects under wraps, has broken his own rule to share exciting details about his much-anticipated film with acclaimed Tamil director Lokesh Kanagaraj.
Aamir stated, “Lokesh and I are doing a film together. Yeh film agle saal banegi. He is right now going to shoot Kaithi 2. So, next year, August–September, we will start.” This confirmation sets the stage for a monumental crossover between Bollywood and the South Indian film industry. Aamir had previously hinted at the genre, describing it as a large-scale superhero film packed with action, promising a visual spectacle for the audience.
While the project with Lokesh is set for next year, Aamir is currently focused on the release of `Sitaare Zameen Par`. Directed by R. S. Prasanna, the film is scheduled to hit theatres on June 20 and features Genelia D`Souza in a leading role. An official remake of the 2018 Spanish film `Champions`, the movie has already garnered attention for its heartfelt theme.
Interestingly, Aamir plans a unique release for the film on a limited 1,250 screens initially. This strategy allows for a flexible rollout, with shows increasing based on real-time audience demand. Aamir also shared that it was veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan who encouraged him to opt for a theatrical release, despite many industry friends advising against it.
