Katrina Kaif recently completed 20 years in Bollywood. In a long and glorious career, she has been a part of many films in different genres. She started doing films where the characters written for her were not as developed. However, over the years, as she grounded herself firmly, she started getting roles that were more nuanced.

She made her debut in Bollywood with the 2003 film Boom, which was a box-office flop. Some of her important roles came in Sarkar (2005), Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya (2005), and Humko Deewana Kar Gaye (2006). After this, she was part of many films, doing 2-3 films a year.

In recent times, Katrina Kaif has been doing lesser films that are often selective. Her stint as an action lady in the Tiger franchise and Bang Bang got a lot of critical acclaim. This new shift in her career will prove important for her, as she has the potential to just kill it in the action sequences.

1) Namastey London (2007)

The first film that got her some commercial success and proved to be a major breakthrough was this Akshay Kumar film. It was a romantic comedy, and her chemistry with Akshay Kumar received quite a lot of praise. After this, she went on to star in many films alongside Akshay Kumar.

2) New York (2009)

New York gave Katrina Kaif much-needed critical appreciation. Before this, she was often criticized for just being an eye candy in the films that she was a part of. However, with New York, a new chapter opened for her, where she proved that she can nail serious and more layered roles as well with her stark screen appeal.

It was directed by Kabir Khan, and Katrina Kaif would later play the female lead to perfection in his action thriller Ek Tha Tiger alongside Salman Khan.

3) Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani (2009)

An endearing film where Katrina Kaif was just excellent. Her fairy-like presence on the screen lifted the emotional and comic scenes equally. The film received commercial success and has been loved by her fans since.

4) Raajneeti (2010)

Katrina Kaif further surprised everyone with her serious act in this Prakash Raj political thriller. Her performance received accolades from critics, and the film marked a special shift in her career.

5) Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011)

It is a film that practically has no haters, and Katrina Kaif is just absolutely brilliant in it as a swim instructor. Her intimate chemistry with Hrithik Roshan and their eventual love story are one of the highlights of the film. After this, there was no going back.
