Films that question and challenge the education system have always won at the box-office. Hichki was no different. Despite a predictable and frankly unoriginal plot, the film won over the audiences with winning performances by leading lady Rani Mukherji and Neeraj Kabi.

Love his films or hate them, nobody knows common-man lingo better than director Luv Ranjan. Despite the misogyny and outright sexism, the bromance between Kartik Aaryan and Sunny Singh coupled with a whistle-worthy performance from Alok Nath, who loves his alcohol and cusswords alike, raked in the moolah at the box-office for Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. And yes, welcome back Yo Yo Honey Singh.

A movie based on Indias most tabooed subject, menstruation starring Akshay Kumar. There was no reason for PadMan to not fly high at the box-office.

After all the numerous controversies the movie fell in, Padmaavat found a sound release in the cinemas. Even though many condemned the films glorification of the jauhar scene in the climax, Padmaavat was appreciated for its three central performances especially Ranveer Singh, who was a thorough scene-stealer as Alauddin Khilji.

The first quarter of 2018 saw a slew of hits that were driven mostly on star power with a sufficient serving of content, if we may add. Presenting the films that made it to our Hall of Fame.
