The Bollywood Report Card 2016-Pits of the 4th Quarter

A movie that did not recreate one but two iconic songs, 'Wajah Tum Ho' met similar fate like most B-graded adult films do. Frankly, even trash can would seem more dignified for their reach.

If only director Aditya Chopra could step out of his cocoon, he would have a better idea about the younger generation before writing a story. This movie had a series of smooch fests but both the actors had zero chemistry between them. C'mon Mr. Chopra, the youth are not forever kissing and making out between the sheets.

To call this a disappointment would be an understatement. Honestly, we could've done without the sequel. The makers tried to cash in on the popularity of the 2008 original and Shraddha Kapoor's fan following, but to no avail. If that was not enough, the movie also fell prey to the effects of demonitisation.

A movie based on the assassination of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and the aftermath that followed requires a credible crew. No way, can a MIA actress and a stand-up comedian do justice to a moving story.

The movie stars Prabhudheva, Sonu Sood and Tamannaah Bhatia. Enough for people to skip this slogfest.

What was touted to be a grand debut of Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher, unfortunately sank without a trace. Despite a good story, fabulous music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and director Rakeysh Mehra at the helm of affairs, 'Mirzya' was a legendary miss.

Blame it on demonitisation, lack of creativity or excessive marketing drags, the last quarter of 2016 saw a couple of releases disappear from the screens without a trace. Leaving the industry reeling from one wound after another, these movies left us scarred for hopefully, days.
