Featuring vocalist Abdul Shaikh, Austin Furtado on lead guitars, Subodh Gupta on bass, songwriting and backing vocals, Bhumit Gor on rhythm and Jay Jain on keyboards, Mumbai-based band Last Minute India emphasise on the infinite nature of hope with their debut release, 'Kaagaz Ki Naav'. Alike paper boats, the band reiterates our beliefs on how everything does eventually work out.

Multilingual hip-hop artist from Jaipur, Ruhaan 79 offers a trippy Punjabi number on self-love and acceptance deploying the classic Contessa as his muse. Featuring producer Trap Monk, the song celebrates the multiple, beautiful flaws that make women.

The first from his upcoming EP, 'Reality' by new-age Bangalore-based pop artist Polymancer, dives deep into the trappings of a conflicted mind in love that must get practical about its approach instead of falling prey to the trappings of pity and delusion. Dark and ambient, the lack of a recurring chorus makes the song, a standout composition.

'With Me' is a giant celebration of innocence and wonder by Zoe Siddharth and Urgen Yolmo aka Zoe and Urgen. Combining influences of pop, R'N'B and folk, the young duo, who first met on the sets of the music reality show, 'The Stage', elaborate upon how love can be imploring in testing times. A must-listen for those who are staying apart from their beloved.

A collaboration in the Indian independent music scene is always a major win for both artistes and listeners. That 'Shades of Grey' brings three superlative singing talents to highlight the inherent duality of the human mind, must leave listeners beaming. A rework of the original track released by D'Souza, more than a decade ago, 'Shades of Grey' deserves to be placed amongst the songs that are lyrically and sonically rich.

One amongst the eight charming songs of probably the most wholesome album of 2021, by far, Maalavika Manoj aka Mali questions the credentials of astrology and numerology that dictates the lives and minds of Indians, but does not dismiss its workings. 'Horoscope' from the album, 'Caution to the Wind', is a rare, disarming composition that lets you observe polarised perspectives of its superstition.
