Khasi Bloodz is a well-known rap group from Shillong who were featured by 101 India in the Hip Hop Homeland series on YouTube, where their song 'Anthem of the Northeast' was released. Since their inception in 2008, Sifar has been a major force to reckon with as far as independent Hindi rock music is concerned. Dabbling between folk, Sufi and sometime fusion, the band comprising of Amit Yadav, Deepak Singh, Sachin Mittra, Smit Hajare, Akshay Agarwal, Anshul Bansal and Arjun Bhaybhang, has been voted as the "2nd Best Rock Band" in South Asia in the Indiego Music Awards 2011 and nominated as "Best Rock Band" in Artist Aloud Awards 2012.
