Radhika Apte: What You Must Know about the Phobia and PadMan Actor

She is married to Benedict Taylor, a British avant-garde violist, violinist and composer, who has also done the background score for several Indian projects namely, 'Udta Punjab', 'Newton', 'Laal Kaptaan' and 'Paatal Lok'.

She made her directorial debut with a short film, 'The Sleepwalkers' starring Gulshan Devaiah and Shahana Goswami, which is currently contending at the Palm Springs International ShortFest 2020

Her breakthrough performances came with 'Badlapur' and 'Hunterrr', two back-to-back releases in 2015.

Besides Hindi, the actress has also starred in several projects in Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. While she did 'Lai Bhaari' opposite Riteish Deshmukh in Marathi, she starred in 'Vetri Selvan' opposite Ajmal Ameer and in 'Haram' opposite Fahadh Faasil.

Owing to her domesticated Indian parts in 'Rakht Charitra' and 'Shor in the City', Radhika was once typecast to such an extent that she was never considered for glamorous roles.

She made her mainstream Hindi debut as Nandini in Ram Gopal Verma's 'Rakht Charitra', following it up with 'I Am' and 'Shor In The City'.

Her first role was as Shahid Kapoor's sister in 'Vaah Life Ho To Aisi' in 2005, a project which she did for fun during college. But her first big break happened in the Bengali film, 'Antaheen', directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury opposite Rahul Bose.

An Economics and Mathematics graduate from Fergusson College, Pune.

Is a trained dancer in Kathak. She learnt the dance form from renowned exponent Rohini Bhate.

She was born on September 7, 1985 to doctor parents in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. Her father was a neurosurgeon and her mother, an anaesthetist.
