He made his Bollywood debut in 'Murder 2' with the song 'Phir Mohabbat', composed by Mithoon.

Arijit's first song was 'All for One' from High School Musical 2 which was composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.

Born in Murshidabad, West Bengal, Singh learnt Indian classical music from Guru Rajendra Prasad Harjari, tabla from Dhirendra Prasad Harjari and advanced music, Bengali songs and folk from Virendra Prasad Harjari.
