Jitendra Kumar: What You Must Know About the Panchayat Actor

In 2018, 'Bachelors' happened followed by 'Gone Kesh', 'Kota Factory' and 'Cheesecake' in 2019. The success of 'Kota Factory' got him 'Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan' in 2020.

After the success of 'Pitchers', Kumar knew he had to do something above and beyond to match the hype of his hit show. He even refused to star in 'Toilet Ek Prem Kathaa' and 'Bareilly Ki Barfi' for a detective show that he was keen to shoot for but unfortunately got shelved.

He did a lot of small roles for TVF from the over enthusiastic intern Munna Jazbaati, as Arjun Kejriwal on 'Barely Speaking' and as a colleague in 'Ek Thi Behen'. His major breakthrough came with TVF Pitchers, a show that would make him hugely popular amongst the Indian millenials.

He took a second chance and went to Mumbai again to pursue his acting ambitions. But in order to survive, he would teach IIT aspirants while giving auditions for weeks.

After trying his luck in Mumbai for three months, he took up a thankless job at an MNC in Hoskote, a small town an hour away from Bengaluru city, when his acting career failed to take off.

He was introduced to The Viral Fever -TVF by Biswapati Sarkar, also an alumni of IIT Kharagpur, during a stage play at the campus of the prestigious institution.

During his college days, he was asked to memorise a scene from Al Pacino's 'Scent of a Woman' by his theatre group. Kumar struggled with the same as he was educated in Hindi medium throughout his school days.
