Chhapaak: Deepika Padukone and director Meghna Gulzar snapped during press promotions

The film is slated to release in cinemas on January 10, 2020

Chhapaak also stars Vikrant Massey, who plays Amol inspired by Alok Dixit, Laxmis partner and a journalist/social activist.

The film marks the debut of Deepika and Meghnas production houses, Ka Productions and Mriga Productions respectively

Deepika plays Malti, an acid attack survivor who does not let her condition deter her spirits. Malti is based on the life of Laxmi Agarwal, an acid attack survivor who was awarded with the International Women of Courage Award by Michelle Obama for her courageous and selfless advocation for justice and human rights.
