8 Years of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani: Six Best Moments from the film that stole our hearts

Ladies, picture this. You're lazing on your couch and watching the television. The doorbell rings and your beloved is standing at the door, waiting to propose to you. Firstly, that's the coolest New Year's Eve surprise, one can get. Bunny's declaration of his love to Naina and their virtual get-together with Aditi, her husband Taran and Avi over the phone, is the sort of happy endings or new beginnings, we all want.

Bunny returns home briefly, before leaving for Paris. He's come home, years later post his father's demise. In a flashback moment, he remembers how his father tried to persuade him to stay back but eventually let him go. Just watching the brilliant late Farooq Shaikh telling his son to go and live his dream, is bound to dial up the waterworks.

Avi and Bunny's reunion in Udaipur is not a pretty sight initially. Years of resentment and anger simmers and bursts into a raging brawl, which Aditi eventually intervenes and resolves. But Avi is yet to trust Bunny again. One evening, Bunny risks a considerable amount over Avi's gamble and loses. In a very casual exchange, Avi quotes incidents from an episode of a show that Bunny is a part of. Bunny is pleasantly surprised to learn that his friend has been following all the developments of his exciting life. Bunny offers to help Avi save his bar from a financial crisis, an offer Avi declines and requests Bunny for his company over a drink instead. This scene beautifully establishes how it only takes a brief moment to break down years of animosity. Sometimes, we all need to share just a moment for everything to fall back in place.

The absolute joy of watching Naina and Kabir climb atop a mountainous peak that is believed to be haunted, is a jaw-dropping moment, indeed. This is where Naina realizes that she is falling for Bunny while Bunny shares details about his most cherished dream with her. When they finally make it to the peak, not only do both share a moment of joy and accomplishment but possibly their first moment of passion. And who can forget the picturesque view of the snow-capped Himalayas?

Naina, Bunny -Ranbir Kapoor, Avi -Aditya Roy Kapoor and Aditi -Kalki Koechlin run for their lives following a brief altercation between the locals in Manali. What ensues is a frolicking chase down the Manali marketplace with Naina finally saving the day for the quartet with her presence of mind.

Naina -Deepika Padukone is a reclusive geek, who has lived a very sheltered life. One afternoon over a meal with her parents, she voices her frustration over her mundane existence and expresses her desire to claim more from her life than just fancy educational credentials. In an impulse, she books a ticket and is seen catching the train alongwith her former schoolmates on a hiking trip to Manali. You feel a sense of victory as Naina sets out to discover her adventurous side.
