Vikram Bhatt Confesses His Affairs With Sushmita Sen And Ameesha Patel Impacted His Marriage

Speaking of controversies, Vikram Bhatt opened up about his extramarital affairs with two leading actresses, and the names will shock you.

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, the filmmaker candidly spoke about his extramarital affairs with Sushmita Sen and Ameesha Patels while he was married to his first wife, Aditi Bhatt. This is probably the first time Vikram Bhatt has opened up about his personal life and how his relationships impacted his marriage.

For the uninitiated, Vikram has worked with both actresses as his leading lady in movies like Dastak, Aap Mujhe Acche Lagne Lage, and Ankahee.

In the same interview, the director was asked if he drew references for the film Ankahee from his personal life. Without any hesitation, Vikram nodded in agreement and also mentioned Sushmita.

He said, 'Yes, quite a bit. I'd say semi-fictionalized... I think my situation with Sushmita and my wife.' He continued, 'It was not incident-based ki aapki zindagi mein aisa hua tha kya (if something like this happened in your life), no, it didn't happen like that. Sometimes you take the emotion and fictionalize it. So it was a real emotion in a fictionalized story."

The 1920 director also opened up about how no one is responsible for his failed marriage. When asked if his wife or Sushmita Sen was upset when he made a film like Ankahee, Vikram said he blames himself.

'If I have blamed anyone, then it was me I neither blamed Sushmita's character nor my ex-wife. Then why would anyone be upset? I have the right to beat myself up,' he said.

However, he also went ahead and said he's not sure how the Aarya actress reacted to his film.

'I don't know I never asked her. See, I have a right over my life, but not over anybody else's. So even when I write on Twitter threads, I write what's my truth, what has happened to me,' Bhatt further added.

While he was on this topic, the host also asked Vikram if his extramarital affairs took a toll on his relationships, whether it was with Aditi Bhatt or the two actresses.

The filmmaker said, "That pain itself has taught me a lot. Today, where I am, it is because of that pain. I think my spiritual journey wouldn't have been the same had I not gone through those events."

"I believe that we all choose our lessons before we are born, and I think I chose these. I say this with all honesty: you have to own every part of your life. Everything that has happened is my decision I let it happen. Nothing that has happened in my life has happened without my permission," Vikram concluded.

For the uninitiated, Vikram Bhatt was in relationships with Sushmita Sen and Ameesha Patel in the early 2000s. However, it was his affair with the Main Hoon Na actress that ended his marriage with Aditi.
