Sanjay Dutt Gets Emotional Talking of his Mom Nargis Dutt

Sanjay Dutt was close to his mother, and he respected his parents dearly. Recently, on the singing reality show Indian Idol 14, he spoke of his bond with his mother, actress Nargis Dutt. Nargis passed away at the age of 51 when his debut film, Rocky, was just 3 days away from release. He was just 21 at the time. When he was 46, he lost his father, Sunil Dutt, as well.

Speaking of the importance of spending time with parents, Sanjay Dutt got emotional as he recalled what his mother said to him. "We take our parents for granted. We feel, 'Mummy papa hain aur humesha rahenge."

Sharing further, he said, "My mother said something to me, which I remember now. She used to say, 'Sanjay mere saath baith, mere saath time guzaar. Because when I am gone, you will feel very bad. Now, I feel that had I listened to her and spent a few hours with her during the day, I would not have this feeling."

He got teary-eyed as he shared this. In the 90s, in an interview, he revealed how he dealt with the death of his mother. He said, "When my mother died, I didn't cry I had no emotions. After two years, I was sitting in a group, and a guy started playing this tape. And I heard my mother's voice advising me and telling me things, like how much she loved me, how much she cared about me, and how much she expected from me."

Hearing the voice of his mother, Sanjay Dutt burst into tears and cried straight for 4-5 hours for his loss. He said, "Everything that was inside me, I took it out, and once that happened, I was a changed man."

Everyone on Indian Idol 14 got emotional as Sanjay Dutt shared this anecdote on the importance of spending time with your loved ones.

Sanjay Dutt keeps sharing photos of him and his mother on social media every now and then. He was last seen playing the role of an antagonist in the Thalapathy Vijay starrer Leo in 2023. He also had a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan, which was loved by everyone.
