Rumours were abuzz that Saif Ali Khan would be starring in the remake of the Hollywood film 'Chef'. The buzz was that the film was supposed to go on floors next month. Inspite of undergoing a successful surgery, the actor has been advised to take adequate rest. The film39s producer Vikram Malhotra of Abundantia Entertainment states, "Chef was never scheduled to begin now. The film was always scheduled to commence shooting from October 1. So there is no question of a delay." Further talking about the prep for the film, Vikram adds, "Saif did get injured on sets of his current film, but will resume the same soon. As for Chef, Saif will begin prepping for the film from August 20, which will be a 45 day workshop that will see Saif getting trained in the art of cooking, food presentation and plating as well."Vikram adds, "We selected October 1 as the start date since we will commence shooting in South India, and by that time the monsoons will have receded. Besides if you have seen the original there is a lot of travelling around the country and the Chef remake as well will see Saif travelling from city to city. Essentially we are currently in reccee stages since we have to finalize six to seven cities that will feature in the film."Directed by Raja Menon of 'Airlift' fame, the remake of Jon Favreau39s Chef is produced by Bhushan Kumar39s T-Series and Vikram Malhotra39s Abundantia Entertainment.
