With mytological dramas taking center stage in Bollywood, Nitesh Tiwari jumped on the idea of making a trilogy of Hindu folklore sagas, the Ramayana. The film will be headlined by Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, and Sunny Deol. As it becomes one of the most anticipated films of the coming year, a video from the sets of Ramayana is going viral.

Ramayana will see Ranbir Kapoor play the role of Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Mata Sita, Yash as Ranavan, and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman. The film has already hit the floors and is aiming to release on Diwali 2025.

Now, a video of the Grand Ayodhya sets is surfacing on the internet as actress Akruti Singh shares the first glimpse of the film's shooting.

Days after Nitesh Tiwari started shooting for his upcoming mythological drama, a video showing the film's grand Ayodhya set being constructed in Mumbai is doing the rounds on social media.

On April 2, it was reported that the filmmaker did a pooja on the sets of Ramayana, following which he began shooting with the side actors. Ranbir Kapoor will soon be joining the sets in the coming days.

Even though Nitesh or any other cast members haven't announced the film officially yet, Ramayana is still garnering several eyeballs and has started to become one of the highly anticipated films of 2025.

While Ranbir will be playing the role of Lord Ram, South Indian actress Sai Pallavi has been roped in for the character of Mata Sita. Earlier, Alia Bhatt was considered for the same however, she backed out due to date issues.

KGF star Yash will reportedly play the menacing Ravana, while Sunny Deol has been cast for the role of Lord Hanuman. Besides these actors, Lara Dutta and Rakul Preet Singh will also be seen as Kaikeyi and Mandhodhari, respectively.

Ranbir Kapoor to undergo a vocal training

In February earlier this year, it was reported that the Animal actor would undergo voice and diction training for the upcoming mythological drama. He wants to do total justice to his character, thus the extra effort.

A source close to the development revealed some interesting details and said, 'Ranbir has a certain baritone and a way of speaking his lines. It is symbolic, and if you have even closed your eyes, you can recognize a dialogue purely based on Ranbir's voice. In 'Ramayana', Nitesh wants to make sure Ranbir sounds different from the characters he's played in the past. Being a versatile actor, Ranbir is enjoying this process of trying something new.'

The actor also did a look test with Nitesh Tiwari. The director doesn't want the actor to gain muscle for his role as Lord Ram. He wants Ranbir to be rather lean.

Ramayana will likely release on Diwali 2025. However, there is no official comment or confirmation regarding the same.
