Earlier, the PS-1 actor Vikram was admitted in Kauvery hospital in Chennai due to sudden illness. the actor's cause of hospitalization was shared by his son on social media. 'Dear fans and wellwishers, Appa had mild chest discomfort and is being treated for the same. He DID NOT have a heart attack as reports falsely claim. We are pained to hear rumours to this effect. That being said, we request you to give him and our family the privacy we need at this time," his son Dhruv Vikram mentioned on his Instagram stories.

Meanwhile, Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan:1 has landed into legal controversies over the look of Aditya Karikalan, played by Vikram. Apparently the laywer has claimed that the Cholas never doned a 'tilak' as seen on the forehead in the movie's posters.
