Kantara For Oscars 2023: Rishab Shetty`s Divine Drama Becomes The Second South Film To Be Nominated

Rishab Shetty's traditional drama Kantara has been applauded across the globe. Receiving a terrific response from fans across the country, Kantara became the highest-grossing movie of the year. The director-actor Rishab took to Twitter and announced Kantara to become an official entrant for Oscars 2023. After Rajamouli's RRR, the divine drama becomes the second South movie to be nominated for the Academy Awards.

Taking it to Twitter, Rishab Shetty revealed Kantara has been nominated under two categories - Best Picture and Best Actor. His tweet read, "We are overjoyed to share that 'Kantara' has received 2 Oscar qualifications! A heartfelt thank you to all who have supported us. We look forward to share this journey ahead with all of your support. Can't wait to see it shine at the #Oscars #Kantara @hombalefilms #HombaleFilms."

An excited Vijay Kiragandur, the producer of Kantara said, "We are ecstatic and elated at the same time after seeing the contention list. Kantara has been a divine blessing for us. We are making every effort to promote the movie and we will do whatever it takes to qualify for the nominations. We are already in touch with our foreign distributors for the movie campaign promotions. This means that the South blockbuster is now eligible for the Oscar members and jury to cast their vote for the film. The nominations for the Academy Awards 2023 will be announced on January 24 while the 95th Oscars Award ceremony will be held on March 12.
