In a hard-hitting and candid interview to noted critic Rajeev Masand, director Shoojit Sircar spoke about how leading studios in the country shied away from backing his recent success 'Pink'.The director, who is currently basking in the critical acclaim and commercial success of the Amitabh Bachchan-Taapsee Pannu starrer confessed that he was angry when production houses could not sense the viability of the script of 'Pink'.He was quoted saying, 'I was angry. I would not let twenty people sitting inside a studio decide about my film. It is my film. It is my vision. Either you say that you're trusting me or you are not. You cannot comment on my film. I was angry with the studios/'When asked if it was still tough to get backing for 'Pink' despite the success of 'Piku', Sircar added, 'I assured the studios that even though the film was being made by a first-time director, I am standing by it. And I backed the film from the beginning. So when we were turned down, we decided to do it by ourselves. We were not challenging them in anyway, but we were challenging ourselves on our vision.''Pink' released on September 16, and has been overwhelmingly received by the audience. It stars Bachchan and Pannu alongside, Kirti Kulhari, Andrea Tariang and Angad Bedi.
