I. K. Bahl Passes Away: Remembering The Veteran Producer And Hema Malini’s Secretary

Inder Raj Bahl, popularly known as I. K. Bahl, passed away on February 23 at his residence in Juhu, Mumbai. He was 91 years old and went away peacefully. He was unwell for some time and was undergoing dialysis.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, a daughter, a brother, and a sister. I.K. Bahl was a veteran producer who backed films like 'Dream Girl' and 'Shaukeen.' He was also actress Hema Malini's secretary.

A brief glimpse of I. K. Bahl's contribution to Bollywood

I. K. Bahl was Hema Malini's personal secretary for the longest time. He is predominantly known for co-producing the blockbuster film, 'Dream Girl,' released in 1977. He produced the film along with the actress's mother, Jaya Chakravarty.

Bahl backed other films like 'Swami' (1977), starring Shabana Azmi and Girish Karnad, and Banaras (2006), starring Urmila Matondkar and Dimple Kapadia. He also helped produce the film 'Shaukeen' (1982), directed by Basu Chaterjee.

Additionally, Bahl directed a television show called 'Darpan,' under the direction of Basu Chaterjee. It starred Pankaj Kapur, Rameshwari, Athar Nawaaz, Kulbhushan Kharbanda in the lead.

I. K. Bahl's family remembers the late producer

Bahl's son, Bunty Bahl, runs a celebrity management company in Mumbai. He opened up about his father's death in a statement and recalled how he was always smiling.

While talking about his father's passing away, Bunty said, "He led a life of grandeur, offering us the gift of freedom, knowledge, liberties, and love throughout his lifetime. Remarkably optimistic and profoundly sensible, he approached every situation with a positive mindset, focusing on solutions rather than contributing to the problem. Never once did he harbour ill thoughts or intentions towards anyone in his life. Always a generous soul with a perpetually smiling face. A person of great goodwill and reputation, he was the keeper of secrets."

While confirming the news about I. K. Bahl's passing away, Rikku Rakesh Nath mentioned that a prayer meet has been arranged for the late producer on Monday, February 26th.
