Deepika Padukone At Cannes 2022: Actress To Be A Film Jury Memeber Alongside Other Stars

Cannes Film Festival, one of world's biggest and most recognized festivals is starting on May 17th and we can't keep calm. A platform that gives every person associated with the film fraternity to be recognized globally, being at Cannes is certainly a 'pinch me' moment. But for the Indian superstar Deepika Padukone, this is another cakewalk. The actress who knows no limits will not just be attending the festival but also is on the board of film jury alongside other stars.

According to the prominent anonymous social media fashion account Diet Sabya, Deepika Padukone will be walking for all 10 days on the carpets of Cannes.

In a statement from the press of Cannes, the Gehraiyaan star was described as, "Indian Actress, producer, philanthropist, and entrepreneur Deepika Padukone, is a huge star in her country. With over 30 feature films to her credit, she made her English language film debut as the female lead in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, co-starring with Vin Diesel. She is also the principal of Ka Productions, the production company behind Chhapaak and '83, in which she also starred, as well as the upcoming film The Intern. Credits include Gehraiyaan and Padmaavat, as well as the award-winning and critically acclaimed film Piku. In 2015, she set up The Live Love Laugh Foundation, whose programs and initiatives aim to destigmatize mental illness and raise awareness about the importance of mental health. In 2018, Time Magazine named her one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World."

Apart from her, other stars like Noomi Rapace from Sweden, Jasmine Trinca from Italy, Jeff Nichols from the United States of America, Joachim Trier from Norway and Rebecca Hall are on the jury. Vincent Lindon will reside as the Jury President.

Padukone will be next seen in SRK-John starrer Pathaan. Apart from this, she will be seen in the Hollywood classic The Intern's remake with Amitabh Bachchan and Fighter alongside Hrithik Roshan.
