The wait to the release of director Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus 'Padmavati' on December 1st, 2017, is going to be a long one if the first stills of its leading lady, Deepika Padukone are anything to go by.Sporting a uni-brow, Deepika looks absolutely gorgeous as she essays the titular role of the brave Rajput queen, who surrendered herself to fire following the conquest of her kingdom by a ruthless invader and her husband's subsequent murder.Leading the cast with her are Shahid Kapoor who plays Raja Rawal Ratan Singh, the king of Mewar and Padmavati's husband and Ranveer Singh, who will be seen as the invader Alauddin Khilji.Aditi Rao Hydari and Jim Sarbh will also be seen essaying key roles as Singh's wife and chief in general. The film will also mark director Bhansali's third collaboration with Padukone and Singh. The trio had earlier worked together on 'Goliyon Ki Raas Leela: Ram Leela' and 'Bajirao Mastani'.The film is slated for official release on December 1st, 2017.
