The trailer of Akshay Kumar's highly anticipated Republic Day release, 'PadMan' is here and boy, are we more than excited.Highlighting Indian society's most tabooed subject of menstruation and women's hygiene, Kumar is all set to bring the incredible story of Padmashri Arunachalam Muruganantham, a social entrepreneur from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, to the forefront.In the trailer of the film, we see Kumar trying layers of cotton packed into a sanitary pad upon himself as part of an experiment. The experiment would eventually lead him to bring about a path-breaking innovation in his village that would help in resolving the problems faced by women related to Menstruation, including his wife, played by a brilliant Radhika Apte. How Kumar's character green-lights a revolution with the help of an NGO worker, played by a restrained Sonam Kapoor, and how word of it travels far and beyond his village, forms the crux of the trailer.Without giving away much of the story, the trailer featuring the voice over of Amitabh Bachchan, manages to hold your attention till the end, leaving you wanting for more. Kumar seems in excellent form himself and it would be interesting to watch a reigning superstar draw our attention towards a subject that most Indians shy away from. Meanwhile Radhika and Sonam seem in great form too.Directed by R.Balki, the concept of 'PadMan' has been credited to Twinkle Khanna, who also marks her debut as a producer under her banner, Mrs. Funnybones Movies. Besides her, the film has been jointly produced by Aruna Bhatia, Sony Pictures Entertainment, KriArj Entertainment, Cape of Good Films and Hope Productions. Shailesh Gupta is credited as the associate producer and music of the film will be rendered by Amit Trivedi.'PadMan' is all set for worldwide release on January 26th, 2018.Watch the trailer below.
